Clash of Clans is a strategy game. Players use their village and its army to attack other players’ villages and through this, gain more experience and gold. To be successful at the game you need wisdom, intelligence, the ability to plan ahead, and lastly but importantly resource management skills. The purpose of Clash of Clans is that each player has their own kingdom and they need to make their respective kingdoms strong by acquiring more resources and experience.
The game is set up in a way that your home village is safe at all times, provided you upgrade the respective sections of your village and it is impenetrable by other players (unless you decide to attack them). Clash of Clans players can also join clans which will be discussed in the next section. One of the main reasons why so many people are attracted to this game is because of its graphics and its gaming style, which is fairly simple but still very attractive
How does this game work?
When you first start Clash of Clans, it starts you off with just your base village, which is pre-built for you, but the next step is to upgrade your King’s hut. This unlocks the fun part of the game where you are able to build your own corresponding army units and research spells that will benefit your village in future expansions. These units include Barbarians, Giants, Wall Breakers, Minion Wizards, Archers, Dragons, and many more.
They all have their own respective strengths in battle. With each army unit you purchase, make sure you choose wisely because it takes up gold, which is the main resource in the game to buy new buildings or improve existing buildings (e.g. upgrade your castle into a fortress). Also within this section are spells that you can buy with gems which are the premium currency in the game.
Gems can give you an advantage if used wisely like spell boosts, building upgrades, and more. Spells are your secret weapons to winning battles but they come at the cost of gems; use them wisely!
As you have probably guessed by now, the main aim of this game is to destroy other players’ villages and get their gold and elixir. You attack another player’s village using your army units, which can be built up over time if you collect enough resources such as Gold and Elixir (see below for details on collecting these).
This is an important section because it will make or break you as a player. Here is your village/castle which the game refers to as ‘home’. Here is where you will come back to after each battle. This is also where you farm gold and level up so upgrades are important. You can upgrade or build new resource buildings, storage facilities for all your gems, elixir, and dark elixir (the secondary resources).
